About me
Kay Hartung works with encaustic, and mixed media creating paintings and prints as well as installation work. She received a BFA from Philadelphia College of Art, and an MFA from Syracuse University. She has been awarded grants from the Somerville Arts Council, Malden Arts Council and the Ford Foundation. She was the recipient of a Merit Award from Vermont Studio Center for a month long Artist’s Residency. Hartung has contributed to the art community through extensive administrative work often as a project coordinator, curator or jury member and has taught at Endicott College, MA, and Bradford College, MA, among others. Her work has been exhibited widely in shows such as The Art of Science at Worcester State University, MA, Mysterious and Unexpected at Spencertown Academy Arts Center, NY and BioVisions at Harvard Medical School, MA. She is a core member of Fountain Street Gallery, a member of New England Wax and maintains a studio at ArtSpace in Maynard, MA.
